Description

Lucas Davenport investigates a vitriolic blog that seems to be targeting the children of U.S. politicians in the latest thriller by #1 New York Times-bestselling author John Sandford.

The daughter of a U.S. Senator is monitoring her social media presence when she finds a picture of herself on a strange blog. And there are other pictures . . . of the children of other influential Washington politicians, walking or standing outside their schools, each identified by name. Surrounding the photos are texts of vicious political rants from a motley variety of radical groups.

It's obviously alarming--is there an unstable extremist tracking the loved ones of powerful politicians with deadly intent? But when the FBI is called in, there isn't much the feds can do. The anonymous photographer can't be pinned down to one location or IP address, and more importantly, at least to the paper-processing bureaucrats, no crime has actually been committed. With nowhere else to turn, influential Senators decide to call in someone who can operate outside the FBI's constraints: Lucas Davenport.

Keep your politics to yourself, Mr. Camp. We get enough BS from other sources.
  • Not his usual

Besides the fact I’ve always enjoyed his books, there is no reason I completed reading the entire book.
  • Not his best work

Lucas is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and I have loved the Prey and the authors other series but this was the first one where the politics of the author really interferes with the plot/story. It felt like an anti-conservative diatribe as much as a fictional story. It felt like a political commercial. His usual amazing plot seemed mailed in, and seemed only to service his politics, not the story.
  • Awesome, as usual

If you’ve followed the Reacher series then this will be exactly as satisfying as all the previous books. YES!! Buy this book!
  • Not the strongest entry

This isn’t the strongest entry in the Prey series, but even so, it’s a solid story.

After reading the last Prey book, I thought that Lucas was finally going to have to hang it up so I was very excited that he's continuing. The way this book ended left me feeling disappointed. This isn't the Davenport that I have come to love so much. That being said, I did like most of this book and I'm hoping that the next one is back to the Lucas of old

Sandford still has good stories to tell. This one wasn’t as good as some of the others. The outcome was predictable.

Usually a big Sanford fan I had to force myself to finish this book. Kept thinking it had to get better or more interesting. Sorry, it never did.

Very disappointed. Need to go back to Virgil Flowers, Davenport is about done.
